Changchun Xintiandi is a big department store which has been in operation for about 20 years. It successfully combined shopping & leisure within the 6 levels, 200,000 sqm environment.  The brief is to upgrade the existing department store to a ‘Lifestyle’ centre, improving the customers’ in-store experiences.The proposed design converts the shared public areas into café’/library; popular culture club, multi-function gym etc.Level 3, which houses the sportswear department, has been designed as a sports arena, with the main circulation route as running tracks. The central lawn space can be used for pop-ups, workshops, training sessions etc.
