Aedas Landscape provided a full concept design for this large mixed-use development located in Shenyang, China.The architectural scheme focused on a semi enclosed atrium space surrounded by retail stores. The oval space is designed to be an ice rink in winter and an open stage and amphitheatre in summer.Climatic considerations have had a strong bearing on the outcome of the landscape design. Soft landscape elements have been limited to tree-lined boulevards, with open hardscape areas for snow clearance and de-icing during the winter months.
