Tahko Resort and Spa

Aedas was appointed as architect and lead designer for a concept Nordic spa and ski village hotel for a resort in Tahko, Finland. Initial work included liaising with the planning authorities to provide a masterplan for the site as a component of a regional leisure strategy.
The building design incorporates over 10,000 sq m of spa related facilities, 250 bed five-star resort, lodges, retail and conference facilities, all linked to a cable car station giving hotel guests direct access to the mountain and slopes.
Aedas’ brief for the spa was to create ‘the best spa resort in Europe,’ which aims to transform the economy of Tahko from a two season destination, to a year round attraction.
