Aedas’ commitment to address environmental, social and economic challenges through design excellence is central to the practice ethos.
The Sustainability team has developed a comprehensive practice strategy, dedicated design tools and methods to maximise the sustainable value of every project. As part of Aedas R&D Group we are able to draw on modelling and computational design expertise and research to evidence our design solutions.
We provide specialist consultancy services to advise our clients on the implementation of sustainable design from briefing and masterplanning to concept design, procurement and building management with Post Occupancy Evaluations being offered for every Aedas project as a matter of course. The sustainable design group offers expertise in assessing the lifecycle impact of design solutions, construction techniques and material choice.
Group members engage in industry-leading research projects, are regular speakers at national and international conferences and events and contribute to industry initiatives such as the work of UKGBC Task Groups. The practice’s sustainability policy and practice is recognised for its innovative approach and commitment to sustainable design by numerous industry awards, the architectural press and publications.
