Communications & Electronics Training Building
Leicestershire, UK
Our role was to help to transfer communications and electronics training from RAF Locking to RAF Cosford. This was part of a much larger initiative instigated by the Ministry of Defence, known as ‘Ground Training Rationalisation, Tranche 2’.
We acted as architectural consultants working into Project Managers Allott & Lomax, who were directly employed by the Defence Estates Organisation.
The RAF Cosford training building has 3 floors. These house laboratories, classrooms and workshops grouped around a central atrium. Raised access floors and lightweight partitioning are used throughout to accommodate more IT equipment should training requirements change in future.
