West Dunbartonshire Council has granted planning consent for the £6m Aedas designed extension and refurbishment of Dumbarton Sheriff Court for the Scottish Court Service. Improvements to the facility will include an additional three new courtrooms and supporting accommodation in a manner that will enhance the existing ‘B’ listed Courthouse. The contemporary addition utilises high quality materials and landscaping in keeping with the surroundings to create an extension which promises to be a robust, attractive and energy efficient addition to the original Courthouse facility and a positive addition to Dumbarton.
